"Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow" -Helen Keller

Well, soooo, I got a job! Not only a job... a really great job!! Here is the skinny (for those of you born after 1980 the skinny = the 411): I am doing the bookkeeping for a temporary agency. I am not a temp, I work at the agency. The boss is pretty cool. She has really given me a boost of self confidence.

The office is in Arlington Heights. The job pays me substantially more then my last one. I still get to work 25 hours, so I still get to spend time with the kids. After 60 days I will be able to sign up for the 401K and get health insurance. Even working part time, I will have a weeks worth of vacation next year. If I were working full time, it would be two weeks.

It is very nice. There is a lobby area with a beautiful marble floor and beautiful plants, lots of open windows, very pretty landscaping on the outside of the building as well. The offices are cleaned by a service every night. My breathing is SOOO much better since I left my old job. No more breathing in dust and dirt everyday. I don't cough as much either.

The work is a little challenging also. While it can be pretty frustrating, I am learning every day. I am doing types of accounting that I have not had to do for over ten years. I have had to pull out some of my books from school a couple of times.

I have noticed that I am walking just a bit taller now. I am taking better care of myself and smiling a hell of a lot more. It is amazing what being appreciated for your intelligence and talents can do for a person. In opposition, it is a shame how over time a person can let their self confidence be undermined and not even realize it is happening.

Side note: I completed the motorcycle riders course. I am going to the DMV this week to have that brand new shiny "M" put on my license...hee heeeeeeee!

Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world straight in the eye. - Helen Keller
